A CYPRIOT WHEELMADE WHITE PAINTED WARE AMPHORA
CYPRO-GEOMETRIC, CIRCA 850-750 B.C.
The ovoid jar with wide neck and everted rim, elaborately decorated with encircling bands, continuous frieze of latticed lozenges around the neck with groups of interspersed dots, similar chequerboard lozenges around the shoulder interspersed with vertical linear bands with wavy lines and single dots, rays on the rim; a similar ware oinochoe with pinched spout, the spherical body decorated with bands of horizontal lines interspersed with single wavy lines, on ring foot, circa 850-750 B.C.
