An identical pitcher, no. 13, is illustrated in Lassen, Erik Georg Jensen Silversmithy 77 Artists 75 Years, Smithsonian Institution Press, 1980. Captioned underneath illustration on page 18, "Sigvard Bernadotte, Pitcher, design introduced 1952, triangular construction from one piece of sterling, number 13." Therein described: "The most characteristic feature of Bernodotte's is a preference for geometrical figures, cylinders, and funnels, used together with a very moderate enrichment by engraved lines, profiles, and soldered parallel fluting. His style was elegant and distinctive, as was the artist himself." Mr. Bernadotte collaborated with Jensen's, with few interruptions, for twenty-five years.
