    Raised on three, knife-pared solid conical supports surmounted by hollowed lobes that form the base of the tall slightly waisted body that flares out below an upright finger-grooved rim applied with three small bosses, the body burnished

    Compare the similar vessel illustrated in Ancient Chinese Ceramics from the Neolithic Period to the Western Han, Uragami Sokyu-Do, Japan, 1991, p. 20. See also two similar vessels sold at Christie's, New York, 22 March 1999, lot 201.

    The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test no. C100w35 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
