The white enamel Roman and Arabic dial signed Lepaute à Paris, with pierced gilt-brass arrowhead and crescent moon hands, finely sculpted counterpoised steel sweep center second hands, the movement with circular plates, four back-pinned pillars and twin-going barrels, pinwheel escapement mounted on the backplate with steel knife-edge suspended gridiron pendulum with fine adjustment to the crutch piece, countwheel strike on bell, the backplate engraved Le Paute Paris.9, the architectural case of green patinated bronze on the outside and burnished ormolu on the inside, four sides glazed to reveal the movement and gridiron pendulum, the stepped top cut out and molded with a rope-twist border, the front and sides of the main body applied with foliate mounts to the arches with egg-and-dart molded cornices, the front columns applied husk-festooned torcheres, the rectangular base with a foliate-cast molding and on ormolu bun feet
