The circular white-enamelled Roman and Arabic dial indistinctly signed with pencil Hacaux/1867 and signed Armingaud Lné/A Paris, the case modelled as a bale of cotton containing the movement with silk-suspended pendulum and outside countwheel strike on a bell, flanked by a blackamoor leaning on the bale and an anchor and barrel to the other side, the canted rectangular panelled base with a relief depicting cherubs counting money and loading cargo on to a ship, on barrel feet, restorations
