the stone with wide smooth trough surrounded by carvings in relief of spiders and fruiting branches amongst rockwork with a deep irregularly formed water dropper, fitted within a tapering rectangular box with rounded corners, incised to the cover with 'Ci Yan', 'Presented inkstone' -- 6 5/8in. (16.8cm.) wide.
