Of octagonal form with pierced upright pierced shell handles, the flat conforming cover with ogival sides and double-scroll cover finial, brightly painted on a white ground with vignettes of fantasy castles and islets linked by bridges, of foliate scrolls enclosing a single flower, of ships flying a Dutch flag, and of a pavilion before a large scrolling blue leaf, the same scenes repeated on the cover, gilt line rims
