Brightly enamelled with a gentleman reclining against rockwork with his companion seated on his lap, she holding a walking cane, and he a garland of flowers, beside the couple are three recumbent sheep, within chain-pattern in the well and floral swags at the border below a narrow green band at the moulded foliate rim, underside chips restored

This scene is probably after a painting by Boucher. An identical plate is illustrated by Hervouët and Bruneau, La Porcelaine des Compagnies des Indes à Décor Occidental, Paris, 1986, p. 166, fig. 7.74 (colour plate).
