A famille rose 'mythological' plate
Mid 18th Century
Enamelled within a central puce scroll-and-shell border with Venus holding an anchor in her right arm and Cupid sitting on her lap, pulled by a chariot in the water by two swans between a woman viewed from the back and a putto in the clouds, the hexafoil moulded rim with small floral clusters between plain iron-red and gilt borders (minute frittings)
