Signed in script by William Tolliday
William Tolliday joined Garrard, the Crown Jeweller, in 1970 as a goldsmith. He soon began to specialise in the creation of amazingly detailed fairytale castles and collages, deriving his inspiration from alpine scenes, particularly in Scandanavia. His first exhibition at Garrards of such pieces was a complete sell-out, attracting an international clientele who became devoted to his work. Tolliday continued to work with Garrard exclusively for the next twenty-five years.
