Although there do not appear to be any other published examples of jars with this decoration, the present example can be compared to a Yongzheng mark and period vase illustrated in The S.C. Ko Tianminlou Collection Catalogue, Part I, no. 107, decorated with finely incised pairs of green dragons reserved on a yellow ground. Compare also with a pair of yellow and green baluster vases with engraved Qianlong marks, decorated with sinuous dragons above similar broad bands of cresting waves sold in Hong Kong, 29 November 1976, lot 579.
A related Qianlong marked jar and cover in the Palace Museum Collection, Beijing, illustrated in Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong, p. 445, no. 127, is decorated with a pair of yellow striding dragons above a band of cresting waves at the base and reserved on an iron-red ground.
