This unusual glaze color appears as early as the Xuande period, as seen on an excavated stem cup with Xuande mark illustrated in 'Porcelain excavated from the official kilns of the Xuande (1426-1435) era at Zhu Shan, Jingdezhen', TOCS, vol. 62, 1997-98, p. 23, figs. 9 a&b, where it is called 'sky blue'.
The shape of this bowl, with its small slightly tall foot is quite unusual, as is the glaze. A similar glaze can be seen on lot 388 in this sale where other bowls with this glaze color are mentioned.
