A finely engineered 1½inch scale model of the Allchin single cylinder, two speed, four shaft, general purpose traction engine (Registration No. NU7489) 'Royal Chester',
with brazed copper boiler with fittings including water gauge with shut-off cocks, pressure gauge, safety, blower, injector, water lift, clack and blow down valves. Engine details include: cylinder 1in. bore x 1in. stroke, trunk type crosshead guide, ratchet operated lubricator, foot plate controlled drain cocks, bolted, wedged big end, Stephenson's link reverse, belt driven pickering governor, eccentric driven feed pump and by-pass, crankshaft with two road speeds and spoked fly wheel. Chassis details include spoked, straked wheels, worm and roller chain steering, spud pan, sprung front axle, footplate controlled damper, cable drum and fair leads, and brake to third shaft, water lift, wooden footboard with tool box under with assorted spanners and tools, chequer-plate steps, and other details. Finished in red, with yellow and black lining, black and polished brightwork -- 42 x 66cm. (16½ x 26in.).
