Maker's mark of Tiffany & Co., New York, circa 1874
Bird's Nest pattern, comprising coffee pot, teapot, covered sugar bowl, cream jug, and waste bowl; each with matte surface, the circular foot applied with ivy-capped scrolls at intervals, the bulbous body applied with fully-modelled birds and nests amid scrolling ivy with berries under a beaded band, centering a cartouche on one side, the scroll spouts with similar decoration, the upswept handles with ivory insulators, the hinged covers with similar decoration surmounted by a finial formed as a bird with outspread wings perched on a leafy branch, engraved under bases From C.L. Spencer Jan'y 21 1874, marked under bases 2275
