A French bronze urn, third quarter 19th century
Cast after a model by Pierre Jules Mene, of waisted oval section, with falcon finial (plume lacking) above the foliate and game cast domed cover, the body decorated with a fox hunt to one side and a deer hunt to the other, with twin handles cast as the foliage of entwined trees, signed P.J.MENE beneath, with conforming foliate cast socle and domed base, on a further oval base -- 15 1/8in. (38.4cm.) high
