With slender blade of hollow triangular section etched at the forte with scrolls and strapwork, and on one side with the signature 'Dumont M^d fourbiss^r à la Justice sur le pont St. Michel à Paris', and parcel-gilt iron hilt chiselled in relief with floral sprays in oval frames within rococo scrollwork, the double-shell guard pierced with trellis-work, the grip with its original binding of silver ribbon and plaited silver wire
