Such arabesque or 'seaweed' marquetry features on a related display cabinet, with glazed upper section and labelled by the Monmouth Square cabinet-maker Samuel Bennett (fl. c. 1700-1741) (C. Gilbert Pictorial Dictionary of Marked London Furniture 1700-1840, Leeds, 1996, p. 105, fig. 112). Gerrit Jensen (fl. 1667-1715) was the leading cabinet-maker associated with 'flower'd markatree'.
