The rectangular top with a moulded edge and inverted corners above a frieze drawer on lapetted club legs with pad feet, finished to the reverse, one side moulding possibly replaced

Lot Essay

A group of four single-flap tables that feature the same lappets and distinctive flattened profile of the feet was supplied by Edinburgh cabinet-maker Alexander Peter for Dumfries House, Scotland in 1758 (illustrated in F.Bamford, ed., 'Dictionary of Edinburgh Furniture Makers 1660-1840', Furniture History, 1983, pl.8.)
