Maker's mark of Samuel Welder, London, 1737
The stand on four shell and scroll feet and with central baluster stem with ring handle, fitted with two glass bottles with detachable domed covers and baluster finials and three vase-shaped casters each with pierced domed cover with baluster finial, the casters and stand each engraved with a coat-of-arms within scrolling foliage cartouche, the bottle covers and the handle engraved with a crest, marked on stand, handle, casters and caster covers, the stand engraved with scratchweight '38=17'

The arms are those of Turbutt impaling Babington for Richard Turbutt Esq. (1659-1758) and his second wife Frances Babington. The provenance should read Richard Turbutt and thence by descent.
