The oval twin-flap top with green-stained border, the central section with a pointed oval medallion, each flap with an oval medallion, above a plain frieze crossbanded in tulipwood, on square tapering legs with ebonised banding, brass caps and castors, with brass plaque on the underside engraved 'OWNERS JOHN CARTER (JANE CARTER 2ND WIFE OF) JOHN H. CARTER T. SCALES CARTER', the top largely reveneered
