The rectangular padded back, armrests and seat covered in close-nailed light-yellow horsehair, on square legs joined by stretchers, later blocks, previously with castors, the back possibly reduced in height

This chair and the following set of four side chairs all have slightly lower backs than average. It is possibly they were made for a 17th Century house with low dado.
