    The break-arch dial with Roman and Arabic silvered chapter ring with finely pierced blued steel hands, the matted centre with sunken subsidiary silvered seconds and calendar discs engraved John Johnson, Gray's Inn Passage, foliate spandrels, similar spandrels to the arch flanking the strike/silent ring, the five pillar movement with anchor escapment and rack strike on bell, the steel-rod pendulum with brass faced bob with calibrated rating nut, the case with break-arch hood surmounted by a gilt ball finial on a concave moulded pedestal, stop-chamfered reeded columns to the angles with glazed sides, break arch trunk door and raised rectangular panel to the double-footed plinth
