The rectangular twin-flap top above a frieze drawer and a concave-fronted compartment with chicken-wire panels and a pair of doors, on square chamfered legs with brass castors, the handle apparently original, the doors replaced

Lot Essay

Thomas Chippendale issued related 'Breakfast Table' designs in his Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, 1762, pl. LIII. A similar supper-table was supplied to the 5th Duke of Bolton (d. 1765) for Hackwood, Hampshire and was sold from Hackwood, Christie's house sale, 20-22 April 1998, lot 250.
