A similar cheveret table with arched handle on the superstructure is illustrated in R. Edwards and P. Macquoid, The Dictionary of English Furniture, rev. ed., 1954, vol. II, p. 54, fig. 1. Another was sold from the Edward James Collection, West Dean Park, Chichester, Christie's house sale, 2-6 June, 1986, lot 201. A further example, stamped 'GILLOWS LANCASTER' was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 17 November 1988, lot 158.
