A George III Scottish mahogany longcase clock, circa 1795
With later panels to the hood cresting, foliate inlay above trunk door, the 12 in. wide engraved brass dial with Roman and Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary seconds and date rings, signed in the arch Ja.s Bishop/EDINBURGH, the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; later seatboard -- 81 in. (206 cm.) high
