The North Allerton Gold cup was run on the 9 October in 1829 with a prize worth 110 guineas. The 10 horses were entered for the race which was run over a course of 2 miles. The Duke of Leeds' filly Jenny Mills, a four year old ridden by Tommy Lye, won with Granby, a horse belonging to Edward Petre, one of the stewards, coimng in third. Jenny Mills won a number of minor races. After the Duke's death she was sold and taken to the United States.
