Lot Essay

In 1897, G.W. Scott & Sons began fitting luncheon and tea baskets, liqueur baskets and novelties at their location at 114 Charing Cross Road under the name "Soho Basket Works." By 1913, they were listed as celebrated manufacturers and original inventors of fitted "leather luncheon and tea cases."
