A GEORGE V SILVER TROPHY CUP AND COVER
London, 1911, maker's mark defaced; retailer's mark of Charles Packer & Co.
Baluster on a high domed spreading base chased with band of anthemion under a broad matted band chased with racing attributes, including a jockey's cap, a saddle, and a horseshoe with garlands between, the knopped stem applied with four scrolls supporting the lower body, the body chased with anthemion and laurel-and-berry bands centering oval cartouches, one engraved with a presentation inscription, with incurved neck, the two handles with mask joins and applied with a fully modelled horse and rider, the domed cover surmounted by a fully-modelled Winged Victory, marked on shoulder and cover, also stamped CHARLES PACKER & CO 76 & 78 REGENT ST LONDON W.
