A GERMAN SPORTING CROSSBOW (SLURBOW) Mid-18th Century With slender steel bow secured by its original cords and retaining its original string, walnut full stock inlaid with roundels of white and dark horn, butt of rifle type with raised cheek-piece inset with a star in white and dark horn, the cover to the bolt-channel also inlaid with white and dark horn (incomplete) and inscribed 'No 1' in front of the horn back-sight (fore-sight missing), iron nut, iron mounts (rust-patinated) including suspension-loop, and set trigger 30in. (76.2cm.)
