    A GOLD HUNTER CASED EARLY MINUTE REPEATING WATCH AND AN UNUSUAL LEVER WATCH
    THE FIRST SIGNED LS AUDEMARS

    The gilt bar pattern lever movement with counterpoised straight line escapement, jewelled through the hammers, bimetallic balance with overcoiled hairspring, repeating by means of slide on band, employing English style all or nothing piece, 18K gold cuvette with extensive promotional inscription, white enamel dial with roman chapters, blued steel hands, within an engine turned 18K gold case; and a lever watch signed H. Rosselet, Chaux-de-Fonds, with cut out half-plate movement with right angle escapement and uncut bimetallic balance, 18K gold cuvette, signed white enamel dial with roman chapters, subsidiary seconds, gilt hands with blue spade tips, within an 18K gold engine turned case, c. 1860--54.5 and 49mm. diam.     Lot Essay

    The sons of Louis Audemars produced the first commercially successful minute repeating watches of which this is an example. Their production method made minute repeaters practical to mass produce.
