circular tortoiseshell box, the cover centred with an oval watercolour and gouache miniature on vellum depicting the crowd at Boulevard du Temple, Paris, with figures and horse-drawn carriages, within gold mount, reeded gold rims on cover, sides and base
3 in. (76 mm.) diam.
According to a note accompanying the box, presented by the Prince of Denmark, later King Christian VIII, to Antoine Morellet, Danish Consul in Genoa, 1819.
