A GROUP OF CYPRIOT RED WARE VESSELS
IRON AGE TO HELLENISTIC PERIOD, 8TH-1ST CENTURY B.C.
Comprising a large deep bowl with two loop handles below the rim, the body tapering to small ring base, incised lines encircling the rim exterior, 5 5/8 in. (14.3 cm.) high; three dishes, the flat everted rims pierced twice, one with black strokes around the rim, 6½ to 8 5/8 in. (16.5 to 21.9 cm.) diam.; two shallow dishes with twin loop handles on the rim, the interior and exterior decorated with black and red encircling bands, 5 5/8 to 8½ in. (14.3 to 21.6 cm.) diam.; an amphora with wide short neck and two vertical handles, on stem foot, decorated with cross-hatched triangles around the shoulder and vertical bands around the neck, encircling lines above and below, 6¼ in. (16 cm.) high; and a jug with rounded body and short neck, decorated with red and black encircling bands, concentric circles around the shoulder, repaired with restoration, 8 3/8 in. (21.3 cm.) high, mainly repaired (8)
