    Lot Essay

    This picture must pre-date 1834 when the original Nocton Hall, near Sleaford in Lincolnshire, burned down. Nocton was the home of Frederick Robinson (Viscount Goderich) 1782-1859 who was prime minister between 1827 and 1828. The house was rebuilt in the 1840s.
