A Japanese lacquer kaioke, Edo period, 19th century the ribbed cylindrical box and cover raised on three supports, decorated in gold hiramakie on kimpun ground with three mon on the sides and one on the cover surrounded by plum blossom, with metal mounts applied to the supports and rim edges, the interior decorated in nashiji -- 16in. (40.6cm.) high.
