The present figure is from a series of Commedia del'Arte characters modelled by Wenzel Neu in 1764-1765, taken from engravings by Johann Jacob Schubler and published by Jermias Wolffs Erben at Augsburg in 1729. Dr. Boloardo is taken from plate 2 of the Probst/Schubler graphite sources.
