Iron circular sukashi tsuba pierced with a large maple leaf, the surface finished in ishime-ji and flush-inlaid with scrolling vines in silver on the leaf body and a grip pattern on the seppa-dai, hitsu-ana both plugged with pewter

With wood box with attribution inscription by Sato Kanzan, dated autumn, 1967.
With a certificate of registration designating this tsuba as the 21st Juyo kodogu (Important Sword Fitting) issued by the Nihon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword), dated 1967.3.1.
