A Komai-style box and hinged cover
of rectangular shape, the cover decorated with a mythical scrolling dragon within a flower-head border, the sides with ho-o birds in flight, the gilt interior incised with a figure in a garden landscape and butterflies, on shaped bracket feet -- 31/8in. (7.9cm.) wide, gilt signature to base, 19th Century, (very minor wear).
