The mounts are 19th century and bear maker's marks, probably those of J. van Vorst, who was a silversmith working in Rotterdam between 1845-62. See M. Rinaldi, Kraak Porcelain, London, 1989, pp. 182-184, pls. 236 - 239 for very similar wine pots, and colour plate 235 for the very similar Groninger Museum example. A kraak porcelain blue and white wine-pot and cover of similar form is in the Princessehof Museum, Leeuwarden, illustrated by D. F. Lunsingh Scheurleer, Chinese Export Porcelain - Chine de Commande, London, 1974, fig. 18 and p. 210.
