A KUTAHYA POTTERY CUP AND ASSOCIATED SAUCER
WEST ANATOLIA, 18TH CENTURY
The rounded cup on short foot painted on the exterior with floral sprays contained within lozenge panels with red dotted surrounds, the blue interstices with yellow curving motifs, the interior with a small floral spray, the saucer executed with the same colours but with a more abstract design of white quatrefoil panels containing floral sprays linked by yellow panels flanked by red dotted fish-scale panels all on a light blue ground, the underside plain, hair cracks to both
Cup 2in. (5.1cm.) high; saucer 5.3/8in. (13.4cm.) diam.
