A Kutani baluster vase
with flaring neck, painted and gilt with a bijin and two officials in a fenced, pine-strewn garden -- 14/12in. (37cms) high; and an Imari double gourd shaped vase painted and gilt with panels of dragons chasing flaming pearls on grounds of ho-o, karashishi, shou symbols, trailing flowers and foliage -- 12in. (30.5cms) high, six character mark to base, 19th century.
