    A large cloisonné-enamel vase
    Meiji Period (19th century), signed Shippo gaisha and with manufacturer's mark
    Of bulbous form with short neck, decorated in various colored enamels and copper wire with a kingfisher flying low with a leaf in its beak above a pond crowded with lotus blooms and leaves against a gradated light green and blue ground, also decorated with applied shakudo elements depicting small pools of water in the lotus leaves, with bands of stylized geometric and foliate scroll to neck and above foot, mounts brass, signed on plaque on base
