signed L'Ingr Chevalier OPTICIEN DU ROI Place du Pont Neuf, 15, Paris the 6½-inch diameter glazed compass with silvered face, circumference scale, half blued-steel needle and clamp, in a square mahogany mount with sliding cover and a telescope on the side with twin sights and draw-tube adjustment, on a brass staff mounting with finescrew vertical adjustment -- 24.8cm. (9¾in.) wide
