A large Steiff teddy bear
with golden curly mohair, brown and black glass eye, pronounced clipped muzzle, black stitched nose, mouth and claws, swivel head, jointed elongated limbs, hump, growler and button in ear --29in. (73.5cm.) high, circa 1920 (pads and nose stitching professionally replaced, very slight wear to feet)
This bear was lot 46 in Christie's first all teddy bear sale in December 1993.
