A LATE VICTORIAN ORMOLU STANDARD LAMP
The frosted bowl with guilloche rim and six ram heads joined by husk trails, centred by three lights, on a fluted and waisted stem with pierced scrolling acanthus-leaf shaft, on a guilloche-banded, domed dish, the underside with a pierced tapering stem and foliate finial, supported by three lappeted monopodia, joined by a guilloche stretcher, headed by three female herms, on hoof feet, on waisted circular foot with applied foliate and swagged decoration, fitted for electricity, formerly with frosted dome, one swag lacking and one broken, originally fitted to a newel post

Almost certainly supplied to Thomas Taylour, 3rd Marquess of Headfort (d.1894), for the staircase in the Main Hall, Headfort House, co Meath, Ireland.
