    Painter Charley Toorop mentioned the Rietveld interior of De Wolff Peereboom in a letter to Leo Gestel, dated 14 November 1941. See M. Trappeniers, Leo Gestel als Modernist, Haarlem 1983, p.29, for the letter by Toorop.
