A London delft polychrome dated mug
Of globular form, with loop handle and short cylindrical neck, painted with the initials ·A·N· above the date 1686 and a calligraphic flourish, within a cartouche of entwined fronds, flanked by two birds with ochre wings and tails, holding a berried branch and pecking at seed between blue and ochre line bands (minute flaking to top rim)
