A LOUIS XV SILVER-GILT MOUNTED ENAMEL SNUFF-BOX
Paris, the silver mounts with the discharge mark of Louis Robin 1738-1744, later struck with the Dutch tax mark 1906-1953 for local products
Knop-shaped white enamel on copper box, the slightly domed cover, tapering baluster sides and base decorated with raised gilded scrolls, flowers, vases and foliate garlands parcel-enamelled in translucent green and blue, the lid with a nude child dancing in front of a seated dog with a moth hovering, under a canopy, within borders of trailing foliage, reeded silver-gilt mounts with flanged wavy thumbpiece
