maker's mark PMC in a canted triangle, and two other marks of crowned letters P and W
Oval box, the cover, sides and base enamelled en basse-taille with translucent bleu royal vertical stripes on flower bands alternating with opaque white stripes surrounding bright-cut gold bands, within white enamel borders engraved with translucent blue enamelled scrolls and taille d'épargne laurel leaves, the lid centred by an oval enamel plaque depicting a girl sewing seated next to a cat, within a gold frame chased with laurel
