Isaac Sim Rebour, maître in 1767.
The 'TH' brand was used at the the Palais des Tuileries after the Restoration of the Bourbon dynasty.
Rebour is recorded in the rues de Charonne, Montreuil and de la Roquette. His characteristic ormulu mounts were executed by the fondeurs Paul-André Fossé, of the rue des Boucheries-Saint-Germain and Jean-Loucien Houllieau of the rue Michel-le-Comte.
This elegant table à écrire relates closely to a group of similar examples by Rebour, which are embellished with a rich parquetry and marquetry pattern with a floral-trellis top and entrelac frieze, for which he is best known. A closely related table was sold from the collection of Madame de Polès, Paris, 22 June 1927, lot 290. A further, nearly identical example was sold anonymously, Sotheby's Monaco, 14 June 1982, lot 409 while a similar table, with an undertier, was offered anonymously, in these Rooms, 15 June 1995, lot 110.
