THE PROPERTY OF THE LATE H.D. LYON [ LOTS 262 AND 263 ]
For nearly half a century H.D.Lyon ran his antiquarian book business
from his home in Selwood Terrace, South Kensington. He was considered one of the last great English collector-dealers with a stock that was eclectic, academically interesting, and of the highest quality. He was also an excellent dealer in that his business was sustained by Rothschilds and Guinnesses, as well as the great national libraries of the world.
[We are grateful to Geordie Greig for the above. His full introduction can be found in the sale catalogue for The Stock of H.D. Lyon, Christies, 5th May 2005]
